Colour for the winter months
The weather is getting colder and the skies are becoming dull. Winter is the time to cocoon and nest, and at this time of year, our thoughts turn to creating a cosy interior. Perhaps it’s just me, but when the evenings get shorter and light becomes more scarce, I want to fill my home with colour. I’ve just added a brand new range to the website to help you do just that. Our fabulous Canton Colour collection will cheer you through the dark months of autumn with striking colours and modern shapes.
I jumped at the chance to stock this range of cabinets as I think they form an absolute knock-out collection. It’s a highly individual range, taking elements of traditional Chinese design and turning them on their heads. Each piece is hand-crafted with elm frames and finished in a brightly coloured lacquer, with colours including hot pink, vibrant teal and more classic ivory or black. The collection encompasses all sizes, including tall for living spaces and smaller for the bedside.
The shape is sleek and tapered, the doors fitted without metal hinges for a simple, fluid style which has been popular in China for hundreds of years. My favourite bit though, is the inside: each cabinet has a hand-painted interior featuring classical Chinese patterns, with each one individually signed with the artist’s ‘chop’.
